Legendary indie filmmaker Robert M. Young crowdfunding at 91

Legendary filmmaker Robert M. Young, often referred to as the Godfather of Independent Film in America, is launching an Indiegogo campaign for the production of his latest project, In A Little Spanish Town. “It’s a project that Hollywood will never produce,” in the words of Edward James Olmos, who is going to direct the film.

Aimed at entertaining us as well as raising consciousness and awareness, the 91-year-old filmmaker has been making films for 8 decades. He is reuniting with the creative team from his critically acclaimed movie Caught. Edward James Olmos (Blade Runner, Stand And Deliver, Battlestar Galactica) will direct and produce alongside Young, in addition to starring in the film.  Arie Verveen (Sin City, The Thin Red Line, Sons of Anarchy) will also produce and star in the film.  Maria Conchita Alonso, James Callis and Steven Schub are also on board the project.

In A Little Spanish Town is set in Los Angeles today and takes its characters on an unpredictable journey where their paths cross in ways never imagined. Young humbly says:  “This is the best script I’ve ever written.”
