Things You Can Do To Support Union-Covered Commercial Work

The production of non-union commercials keeps growing. SAG-AFTRA members are joining together in a member-driven initiative supported by the Commercial Performers Committee to protect and expand work opportunities for professional performers in commercials, SAG-AFTRA is asking members to get involved.

As the union embarks on a comprehensive, multi-faceted commercials organizing and recapture initiative, participation by SAG-AFTRA leaders and members is vital. Let’s get the facts out at auditions, on sets, in workshops and on social media.

SAG-AFTRA has developed a Tool Kit with detailed information on the initiative. The toolkit – prepared by the members of the Commercial Performers Committee – will help motivating conversations with fellow members, working non-union performers, talent agents and managers.

Together, SAG-AFTRA members can have a real impact on increasing work opportunities under this contract. Please join AFTRA-SAG in this important initiative. Please watch the video to learn more about the initiative.

Members can also submit short “testimonial” videos ranging in length from 30 seconds to 60 seconds. In your video testimonial, share your story about why you’re The Best in the Business and urge producers to go union. Videos must be your original work or use the testimonial language provided by SAG-AFTRA. Videos must not disparage, defame or violate the rights, copyrights, trademarks, privacy or reputation of any other person or party.
